the idea

Neo-brutalism as a system, not a mood board.

Most neo-brutalist kits are a handful of good-looking frames: detached layers, hardcoded hex values, one state per component. Great for a mood board, useless the moment a product needs a disabled button, a focused input, or a dark mode. I wanted the aesthetic with the rigor of a real design system: shadcn naming, variants and properties, variables, text styles, and two modes. Change one token and the whole file follows.

The library started as my own base for side projects and client prototypes, then grew into a product. The free Lite edition on Figma Community shows the style; the full library is the system behind it.

what's inside

Built like a design system.

01

Components

45+ components: 30 variant sets with Variant × Size × State axes plus composed pieces such as menus, tables, pagination, and a sidebar. Text, boolean, and instance-swap properties, auto layout everywhere, nested instances so overrides survive updates.

02

Tokens

Color, radius, border, spacing, and typography as Figma Variables with Light and Dark modes. Shadow, overlay, and on-primary tokens so the hard-shadow look holds up on both themes. 15 text styles set in Space Grotesk.

03

Icons

61 Lucide icons as components, strokes bound to tokens so they recolor with the theme. No emoji, no glyph fonts, vector only.

04

Documentation

Getting Started and Tokens pages inside the file, plus a Showcase page with light and dark screens assembled from live instances. If the showcase works, the system works.

faq

Questions, answered.

Is the Neo Brutalism UI Library free?

The Lite edition is free on Figma Community and shows the style with sample screens. The full library, with 45+ components, variables, Light and Dark modes, and Lucide icons, is a one-time purchase.

Does it work with Figma Variables and dark mode?

Yes. Color, radius, border, spacing, and typography are Figma Variables with Light and Dark modes, so switching a mode restyles every component.

Is it based on shadcn?

The components follow shadcn naming and structure, so the Figma file maps cleanly to a shadcn/ui codebase. The visual layer is neo-brutalist: thick borders, hard shadows, and bold color.

What does the license cover?

One purchase covers one designer, with unlimited personal and client projects and free updates. Each person who edits with the library needs their own license. No resale or redistribution.

What do I get when I buy the full library?

A .fig file with 45+ components and 288 variants, variables for color, radius, spacing, and typography, 15 text styles in Space Grotesk, 61 Lucide icon components, and Getting Started, Tokens, and Showcase pages, plus a README and LICENSE.
